We keep cookies to a strict minimum. NoteFinder (Real Music, Inc.) sets only a small number of first-party cookies that are needed to run the site and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, our analytics do not rely on cookies, and we never sell your data.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser to remember information between pages and visits. "First-party" cookies are set by the site you are visiting (here, NoteFinder); "third-party" cookies are set by another domain. We also use your browser's local storage for a few features, which we explain below.

Every cookie below is first-party and falls into one of two groups.
Legal basis
We use strictly necessary cookies because they are required to provide the service you request. Preference cookies are used to improve your experience. Where applicable law requires consent for additional technologies, we will request your consent before using them.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off through the site.
- sessionid - keeps you signed in and remembers the contents of your cart between pages. Without it, sign-in and checkout do not work.
- csrftoken - a security token that protects forms and requests from cross-site request forgery.
Preferences
These remember choices you make. They are not required, but they improve your experience.
- theme - remembers your appearance choice (light, dark or high-contrast). Stored for about a year.
- scorehub_language - remembers the language you selected.
Analytics - without cookies
We measure how the site is used so we can improve it, using our own first-party analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics, and our analytics do not store anything on your device - no cookie and no local storage. Instead, a short-lived session identifier is generated on our server and rotates daily, so anonymous visitors cannot be recognised across other websites or over time. When you are signed in, we link this activity to your account so we can improve and personalise your experience. Because nothing is stored on your device for analytics, this measurement does not require cookie consent. Similar technologies (local storage)
We use your browser's local storage (which is not a cookie) to remember a few things on your device, such as your recently viewed scores and your score-viewer preferences (zoom and layout). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us as a cookie.
Payments
When you buy something you are taken to Stripe's secure checkout to enter your card details. Stripe may set its own cookies on its pages, governed by Stripe's privacy and cookie policies. We do not embed Stripe on our own pages and never receive your full card number.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in, the cart and checkout from working. You can clear preference cookies at any time without losing access to the core features of the site.
